My ancestors came much later to this country but were immigrating from political situations in Scotland,Ireland and Italy which could have caused them great harm. This group arrived barely before a very hard winter, and half of the group died in the first winter. I try to imagine the horror of that time... My children are Mayflower descendants through their father's lines back to Resolved White and his parents, William & Susanna White. Standing here today, we do have much to be thankful for, and I know we are here now because of the strength (and some luck) of our early ancestors. Happy Thanksgiving to all. My son has to dress as him for their Thanksgiving dinner. My family didn't come over on the Mayflower but were immigrants at a much later time. They did serve in the revolution and settled the Ohio valley as they were given tracts of land as compensation for their military service. we all celebrate our heritage and also the countries we came from. So happy to read your posts and know how much our ancestors contributed to history both here and also in Canada. I am in the middle of proving my Mayflower line right now; I just discovered my Pilgrim roots just over a year ago.Elizabeth Pruetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04240312449777501957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2051593313019795067.post-13353318234969633942012-11-28T14:05:03.090-08:002012-11-28T14:05:03.090-08:00Thanks, shinsya.
